During the White Phase of Basic Training, Trainees are exposed to Land Navigation, where they learn how to successfully move through terrain with only a compass, map, and protractor. Throughout their time in Initial Military Training, Trainees will learn foundational skills that they build upon throughout their career within the U.S. Army.
