We stop releasing vultures at the end of October, as their migration window has closed and they cannot handle the cold MN temperatures. Those that miss this window must stay in our hospital over the winter and wait for a spring release. This juvenile Turkey Vulture that was in care with us for over a month recovering from a clavicle fracture has finally been released! This bird was found down on the side of the road unable to fly, likely after being hit by a vehicle. Thankfully the finders were able to to contain the vulture and transport to us for evaluation and treatment! This bird recovered well, and made it very obvious while in care that they wanted nothing to do with us, demonstrating a behavior vultures commonly do in th
