On May 8, 1988 the 5th and final Von Erich Memorial Parade of Champions took place in front of 7,000 fans at Texas Stadium. A World Championship Wrestling Association (WCWA) event, it was held by WCCW promoter Fritz Von Erich in memory of his sons David Von Erich and Mike Von Erich. On June 4, 1986 Kerry Von Erich crashes his motorcycle in Argyle, Texas. He suffered a dislocated hip and a badly injured right leg. Doctors were unable to save his right foot, eventually amputating it. According to his brother Kevin, Kerry reinjured the foot following surgeryby attempting to walk on it prematurely, thus forcing the doctors to amputate it.
