Splash & Dash: A group of skilled balloon pilots from the New England states spent the last few days in Western New York around the Letchworth State Park area, launching from outside the park. A rare “splash & dash” was performed just beyond the base of the massive Middle Falls on the Genesee River there. Aboard a hopper balloon, the pilot touched the riverbed—walked several feet—then ascended. It’s very rare to see this in that spot. I’ll continue to document…from afar. | John Kucko Digital
