Memory flashbacks are well known when it comes to trauma. . But, what’s lesser known are cognitive flashbacks, where survivors of trauma vocalize things said to them, or things they never got to say to others in moments of stress, anxiety and tension. . Someone may have never said, “STOP, you’re abusing me” to their abuser. . So, it’s not uncommon for these kinds of things to come out later in life, many times in relationships with other people, who aren’t actually doing hurtful things to them.
