We had fun visiting with all of you last night. We especially enjoyed answering questions from the younger crowd members. Our two favorites are: Do the swifts have to worry when Santa comes down the chimney? (answer: no, because they migrate and aren't in the chimney in the winter) and How do they build the nests so they cling to the chimney? Chimney swift bird counters track migration and more in Green Bay

🐦 Since 1970, chimney swift populations have declined by 90%. Once nesting in hollow trees, chimney swifts adapted to city life — raising their young in chimneys after forests were cleared. But as old chimneys disappear and insect populations decline, these agile flyers are losing both homes and food.
