With Valentine’s Day approaching, I wanted to re-share this tender, intimate moment that I filmed in August of 2023. These two beavers were grooming near each other at the edge of the river. The beavers I follow are very accustomed to being watched and don’t often slap their tails because of people watching them. But every once in a while I catch them on camera slapping their tails, usually when a large dog is going by and they catch it scent.
