During the summer, every evening after dinner, I wander through the neighborhood hoping to spot these little ones—and this was the sweetest moment I’ve seen yet. For about two weeks, my neighborhood becomes a little fawn nursery before the does take their babies to higher elevations to spend the rest of the summer, returning again in the fall.
