BNSF's Engineering team recently completed the second of four phases of the Memphis Bridge project, replacing more than 700 feet of a 125-year-old steel bridge with modern steel girders supported by new concrete piers. "We are rebuilding more than 50 percent of the Memphis Bridge from the bottom up," says Ron Berry, general director, Structures—Engineering.
