The FDNY has many Bravest women trailblazers who became the first in their field, advancing in rank and inspiring others. EMS Deputy Assistant Chief Janice Olszewski became the first female two-star chief at the FDNY in 2015. She began her career at the FDNY in 1987 as an EMT. She is a 9/11 first responder who narrowly escaped the Towers and continued to manage treatment for the injured that day. #WomensHistoryMonth | New York City Fire Department (FDNY)
