This week I refinished a beautiful tall five-drawer vintage dresser—likely from the 1940s or 1950s—that had clearly lived several lives before it found its way to me. It had been painted, stripped, stained, sealed, and refinished multiple times over the decades. The most recent finish was a bright royal blue followed by another attempted refinish, and it was in desperate need of a proper restoration. This dresser has been through a lot. PRODUCT LIST IN THE FIRST COMMENT ⬇️ After being refinished by someone else, a client had it dropped off here so I could refinish it to match another dresser she was buying from me. I was quite surprised at the condition of it when it arrived. From the photo I thought it had been stained, but it was just primed and stain was applied as a faux finish, I’m guessing.
