The main reason cruise ships visit Skagway, Alaska is so guests can ride the historic White Pass Railway. This railroad was built during the gold rush to take prospectors from the coast into the Yukon. The same rails and rail cars now will take you on a scenic ride up the mountains to the Canadian border and back. This is a must do when visiting this port!!
