Today is January 28, the feast of St. Thomas Aquinas. Thomas was born about the year 1226 near the Italian town of Aquino. Educated at the abbey of Monte Cassino, he entered the Order of St. Dominic when he was young. He became one of the greatest philosophers and theologians of all time, and in his own day was one of Europe's most celebrated teachers and preachers. Among other writings, Thomas authored the Summa Theologica, the most complete exposition of theology ever written and is, perhaps,
