Sensory Processing Disorder (SPD) affects how children perceive and respond to sensory information. There are 3 main patterns: hyposensitivity, hypersensitivity, sensory seeking. C-Sections, while often times life-saving, can be very stressful for both mom and baby, especially if unplanned or emergent. The sudden transition from womb to the outside world, pulling on baby’s head, and separation from mom can cause a heightened stress response, leading to dysregulation in the baby’s nervous system.
