Cruising here with Johnny B on that magic afternoon convergence, which was stoked by the wind on the left & the sun on the right! We were just missing one person, my father who had just finished his annual maintenance that afternoon.. | Adam Woolley's Gliding Adventures

495km at 141kph today, a 12,000' CU day that wasn't easy, yet at the same time, it was relatively so! I took a few videos today, so I decided to link them together - actually, I got out the old GoPro, but 16GB doesn't get you far these days, nor does the battery 🤣 The phone is easy enough, though very distracting, every time I pulled it out today, I had to clean the lens, lose the core, find the core & talk - definitely need to find something easier for me. I'm not into fancy stuff like Stefan

I flew with a very different style & approach today, felt like an armchair ride in comparison! My usual style on a 14,000' day is 120kts everywhere, push for the big ones. Today, I challenged myself to fly 180-190kph, never over & take above average climbs to generally stay high - 160km/hr as a result :) | Adam Woolley's Gliding Adventures

SOUND ON & Happy New Year one & all! On this flight, I completed the first ever 1000km FAI out of Keepit & matched Lisa Trotters continental record 😀💪 Thanks to Jonny for the video, capturing my runway inspection run to clear the kangaroos off the Lake Keepit runway before landing. Practice day here at the Australian nationals, I wasn't very motivated today, so took the first 1.5 legs very steady. The weather picked up, so the red mist descended upon me, good fun! Heading for TP3 I got absolutely smashed by sink, probably 20km of 25:1 - insane! Fortunately I got away, but never really recovered from that. Finally at TP4, I got high again & home James 😊 | Adam Woolley's Gliding Adventures

Unfortunately today didn't go to plan. 3000' start height & 3kt climbs, saw us bouncing off the ground too many times. With 2 others to cover & with such tight margins, what ever place we finished the day in, would be the final placings. Regarding team selection for Uvalde, we needed to finish one point in front of Brad & Bruce to make the team. We definitely finished behind them & will be #2 ranking for that spot. This was my last flight in Australia until after my Captains training at work is

Last day recap while it's somewhat in my mind. A great way to finish! As with previous days, the climbs got weaker as we got higher pre-start, I made a note to Allan that we may start below base, but it's not a disadvantage, because not many were able to make it there - especially with the PEV, lucking in with a good high start would be a bonus - fortunately we managed this & went through the line with 80% of the class :) While the terrain was easy, the gaggle was well behaved. The QLD States are now over, this week I switch into the role of task setter for the Australian Club Class Nationals. Unfortunately the 20m nationals were cancelled due to lack of numbers, so I'll max out everyday where possible. I took a launch & set off North for a 400km O/R task, which I completed at 117km/hr for memory. I decided to experiment with 550kg, what a beautiful little weight it is! The feel of the glider is supreme, but when it's this light, it truly has got supreme handling & fee

Many ask me what navboxes I use in my Naviter SeeYou #OudieN & how I use them, so here's a run down on how I do so - hope it helps 🙏 Naturally, the way I do it, isn't the only way & it's certainly not the absolute correct way - but it works for me. What works for you, works for you 💪 One thing I do try to promote though, is that if you don't look at a navbox you've setup in three consecutive flights, then basically, it's not helpful to you & might as well delete it to free up screen space, or
