🏈On March 6, 1983 the 12-team United States Football League begins its inaugural season with five games. Perhaps the most anticipated game on the docket was the New Jersey Generals facing the Los Angeles Express. The Generals had made a big splash by signing Heisman Trophy-winning underclassman Herschel Walker, from the University of Georgia.
