Movement of the Planets in our Solar System Animation

Planet parade tonight?! Are the planets really aligning? Yes… and no. Tonight, six planets will be visible in the sky shortly after sunset. Because the Solar System is structured like a flat disk, they’ll appear to line up across the sky. But are they actually aligned in space? Not really. If you could look down on the Solar System right now, the planets would look scattered around the Sun — all roughly on the same side except for Mars — but definitely not in a neat straight line. So why do they
