Farmers in the past succeeded with limited tools. Today’s farmer has access to better seedlings, better knowledge, better processing methods, and better communication. What was missing then is now available. The difference between success and failure today is not opportunity. It is how seriously the farmer approaches planning, maintenance, and learning. Oil palm helped build Nigeria once. It can still build strong individual farmers today when treated as a long-term system, not a quick project.
