To get the rings to seat quickly, without over-heating them due to the friction, ten runs of hard acceleration were done. More or less, get the vehicle in 3rd (top) gear going about 30mph.
Ring gap installed on piston out of box check gap?
Jul 19, 2021 · The rings should be sized correctly to the piston, especially if they came with the piston. If there were any question, you would buy new rings to match. The ring end gap is adjusted to fit the cylinder. Take the rings off the piston and insert into the cylinder, then measure and adjust gap. Many video's available.

Since these measurements are done in inches, you'll need to convert your bore diameter from mm to in. Bore Diameter In Millimeters / 25.4 = Bore Diameter In Inches. For example, my 72cc big bore kit uses a 47mm bore.

Feb 10, 2015 · The primary point of failure in the 50mm+ bore kits reported has been the big end connecting rod bearing. Replacing the bearing and conrod is possible, but it's not an easy job. Combined with the cost of a new rod, bearing, and main bearings the entire crankshaft is usually replaced. The camshaft changes valve timing and lift.

I stick the magnet through the cam pass-through and grab the chain at the end as it's hanging down and pull it through the pass-through and just let go of the magnet.

Mar 9, 2017 · Once the ring is started on that side I work around the piston on both sides going towards the exhaust port, work the second ring in the same way. If you feel resistance getting it to fit, STOP. Back the piston out and double check the ring gap and alignment pin in piston to confirm its in the correct location. The repeat above process.
