Does anyone think this is actually a good program? - FreeCAD
Jan 1, 2020 · Yes, FreeCAD is a great collection of tools, but as a standalone software it's unusable. And I've used all similar CAD programs. And also yes, GIMP is a good example of crap. Living in denial has never lead to any good outcome.

So I choose FreeCAD to make my own model. What I felt with using FreeCAD is, it's useful for solid modeling. But for surface modelling, it's not convenient as commercial CAD softwares.

Which Free CAD would you recommend for 3D printing?
Apr 4, 2013 · True CAD software either use CSG (outdated) or boundary representation (B-Rep). All modern CAD software use B-Rep, and so does FreeCAD. OpenSCAD is popular in the 3D printing community, but it's a tool for programming-minded people - which I'm not. It can only export to .CSG (an open but non-standard file format) and .STL.

Jun 17, 2021 · Incorrect, Surface Pro X (Which is ARM) can run x86 programs due to internal Microsoft hardware and software emulations. I am successfully running an older version of Freecad 32 bit. But currently it is not running the latest 0.19 x64 version. The Freecad team must start providing support for ARM of platform.

Apr 5, 2020 · Really excellent work. I am happy and hope to build my E-Ukulele with it. It will be a combination of wood and 3D printing. I run the Marz Guitar Design Workbench on Win 7 – no Linux on board (see below). I will certainly ask for one or the other. Is there a First Steps guide. Only for the first personal success.
