Feb 25, 2020 · Echo Buttons are a different product than the Amazon reorder buttons. Originally, the primary use for the Echo button was for things like trivia games played in conjunction with an Echo unit. Later, Amazon made it so you could attach a routine to an Echo button.

Dec 19, 2022 · The button is less than 36" from the Echo Show 5. I had the same issue a few days ago. Button I use for starting an Amazon music routine in my sons room was just flashing blue quickly but not activating anything. Unpaired it from the echo then it wouldn’t pair again. Pulled plug on echo and rebooted it.

Jul 23, 2021 · It needs a little hub to operate but works perfectly to trigger Alexa routines. It shows up on the Alexa routines as a motion sensor, I guess this was needed to make it work with Alexa as a trigger. May 26, 2021 · BTW Amazon found their virtual buttons (essentials) were preferred over the physical buttons for product ordering plus it eliminates a cost for the consumer and Amazon. And Routines replaced the Echo Buttons for having Alexa do things. ALL are non voice options.

Mar 16, 2021 · It would depend on what you want to do with the buttons. I use SmartThings, so ST buttons are an option (or would be, if Samsung hadn't quit making ST hardware) as are Ikea's Tradfri buttons. I'm sure there's others but those are the first two that come to mind. 1.
