Computer only detecting 8 GB of RAM instead of 16 GB
Jun 14, 2018 · So I recently reinstalled Windows 10 for a fresh new start. It seemed alright at first, until I found out that the new Windows 10 is only detecting 8 GB of installed Ram when I actually have 16 installed. But it keeps telling me I have only 8 GB installed. What should I do? Fix it from BIOS or what? I have been hours trying to fix it.

Aug 23, 2020 · 8gb ddr4 ram; The issue is that I bought a new Crucial 8gb DDR4 RAM stick (same speed as a default RAM stick) in hope to upgrade my laptop to 16gb RAM, however, after installed, I check the system information and its still only showed 8gb of Physical RAM, the task manager also only showed 8gb, however the Virtual memory showed 15.9gb.

Apr 20, 2020 · I checked if my PC was using all 16GBs of RAM after the update, but it still isnt using it all. It seems that the RAM is being reserved for hardware. How would I make it so that I can use the RAM instead of it being used for hardware. (I am aware that I have to keep some of it reserved for hardware).
