Computer only detecting 8 GB of RAM instead of 16 GB
Jun 14, 2018 · So I recently reinstalled Windows 10 for a fresh new start. It seemed alright at first, until I found out that the new Windows 10 is only detecting 8 GB of installed Ram when I actually have 16 installed. But it keeps telling me I have only 8 GB installed. What should I do? Fix it from BIOS or what? I have been hours trying to fix it.

I know some of the memory is reserved by the system, but even then shouldn't I atleast get around 7-7.5gb as useable. I am not able to play games (which need 5-6 gb ram) properly. My specs-CPU- AMD ryzen5 3500H. GPU- Nvidia GeForce Gtx1650 4gb. Ram- 8gb

Aug 9, 2021 · When I checked in System Information how much Installed Physical Memory there was, it showed 8GB, and I'm very concerned by that. To fix it I tried going into MSCONFIG-boot-advanced options and changing the maximum memory setting, but when I went there, I couldn't set it any higher than 8192MB, even though I have 16384MB installed.

Most likely you are using the on-board graphics which can't be replaced, but you may be able to add an extra card. Again, the manufacturer should have the information.

The output it is displaying is "8.0 GB Unknown". The system IS displaying the speed, so I have DDRX-1600... I need to know what X is, and would like to avoid opening the case. I have done a reboot.
