Officials say crews responded to a home near SW 76th St. and Youngs Blvd. in Oklahoma City regarding a fire in a garage. A woman was later found dead inside the home. According to police, the woman, identified as 45-year-old Kellie Slaughter, was killed before the fire started and had injuries consistent with homicide.

Upon police arrival, Slaughter barricaded himself inside a home. Around 4:00 a.m., Topeka Police entered the home, to find Slaughter deceased. Topeka Police is investigating this death as a possible suicide.

A man suspected of committing an Oklahoma City homicide died of possible suicide after a police standoff at a transgender support house in Topeka.
