Captured by the Orbiter's High-Resolution Imaging Science Experiment (HiRISE) camera, the shot was taken on February 28 this year; this was the 4,455th day of Curiosity's mission after it touched down on Mars on August 6, 2012.

One of NASA's Mars orbiters has captured an image the likes of which has never seen before, NASA itself has claimed. On February 28, NASA's Curiosity Mars rover was captured in what's believed to be the very first orbital image of it driving across the Red Planet.
