The Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Erie County and the central portion of Lorain County is in effect until 6 p.m. this evening.

Data analyzed by the CBS News Crime Unit shows at least 50 law enforcement officers have been shot in ambush attacks so far this year.

Law enforcement officers from across the state will patrol the streets of Lorain this week, allowing the city’s police department to attend the Wednesday funeral of Officer Phillip Wagner, who died in an ambush last week.

Ohio Officer Brent Payne was released from the hospital after surviving an ambush attack that injured him and others, including a fatally wounded colleague.

Wagner died Thursday after being shot in an ambush attack. Two other officers were wounded, with one suffering serious injuries.

Volunteers met at the Kurtz Bros, Inc. in Avon on Sunday to create luminary bags for the memorial in front of the Lorain Police Department set up to honor fallen Officer Phil Wagner.

LORAIN, Ohio (WOIO) - U.S. Marshals said Monday a reward is available in connection to the capture of a Northeast Ohio fugitive on the run. Marshals said Darryl Hicks is wanted by four agencies for a variety of allegations. The accusations against him include robbery and intimidation, plus parole and drug violations.
