LOS ANGELES — Buster Posey has taken his first major swing as president of baseball operations by trading for three-time All-Star third baseman and designated hitter Rafael Devers from the Boston Red Sox in an absolutely stunning deal, according to multiple reports.

Posey’s bold, brash, and perhaps even reckless trade for three-time All-Star slugger Rafael Devers on Sunday is a big black-and-orange stamp from the new director of baseball operations on the Giants organization.

LHP Kyle Harrison will take the mound for the Giants. In seven games and 18.2 IP, he has a 4.34 ERA, including 19 strikeouts. Leading off for the Rockies will be lefty Carson Palmquist, who currently has an 8.50 ERA across 8.50 IP. That includes 14 Ks.
