D’Monterrio Gibson was delivering packages in Brookhaven, Mississippi, when two men allegedly opened fire on the truck he was driving.

A former Black delivery driver in Mississippi has filed a second civil lawsuit after two white men allegedly shot at him on his route last year.

A Black FedEx driver who said he was shot at and chased by two White men while delivering packages in Mississippi last year tells CNN FedEx fired him after denying his request to work from home.

D'Monterrio Gibson is once again suing FedEx and the men he is accusing of shooting at him during an attempted delivery in February.

A FedEx spokeswoman said D’Monterrio Gibson did not accept a part-time nondriving job offer with the company.

"I honestly feel disrespected," the former driver, D'Monterrio Gibson, told The Associated Press after he received an email from FedEx about his termination.

D’Monterrio Gibson was fired by FedEx six months after he was shot at while on the job in a Mississippi neighborhood.

Brandon Case and his father, Gregory Case, are charged with attempted first-degree murder, conspiracy and shooting into the vehicle driven by D'Monterrio Gibson in January 2022.
