Four-time World Cup overall champion and 2010 Olympic gold medalist Lindsey Vonn will rejoin the U.S. ski team more than five years after claiming, in her retirement announcement, that her “body is broken beyond repair and it isn’t letting me have the final season I dreamed of.

The next Winter Olympics are in Italy in February 2026, and while it’s not clear if Vonn plans to participate, the women’s Alpine skiing events will be held on a course where she holds a record 12 victories.

Lindsey Vonn, one of the most decorated skiers in history, ended her retirement and will join the U.S. Ski Team, the three-time Olympic medalist announced Thursday.
