Charlie Stramel gets two goals and an assist and Isaac Howard notches three assists as MSU splits weekend series

EAST LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - No. 1 Michigan State hockey took down rival No. 10 Michigan, 4-1, at Munn Arena in East Lansing Saturday night. Michigan State’s win ensured the rivals split a home-and-home series this weekend after Michigan won 3-2 in overtime Friday. The teams combined for 21 penalties in a chippy, heated rivalry game.

Michigan State led 1-0 before Stramel knocked in a rebound with less than two minutes remaining in the first period. With the Spartans shorthanded midway through the second, Howard served up a perfect 2-on-1 pass for Stramel’s one-timer that beat Michigan goalie Logan Stein.

Stramel scores twice to help MSU beat Michigan 4-1 and earn series split
