Sauber earned a dual Bachelor of Science degree in athletic training and Kinesiology from Kansas State in 2005. He received his Master’s in College Student Personal/Intercollegiate Athletics in 2007.

Kansas State coach Jerome Tang says the team's downfall against St. John's Saturday afternoon was in the communication and effort. Assistant coach Jareem Dowling echoed Tang's sentiments.
