Two Middle Tennessee school districts and one private school have announced closures ranging from one day to the rest of the week due to widespread illness. Houston County Schools announced on social media Tuesday it was closing for the remainder of the week starting Wednesday.

Sickness is hitting a Southeast Kansas school, forcing it to close for the rest of the week.

Casey County Public Schools said its schools will be closed Thursday and Friday. The district said schools will be using NTI days for both Thursday and Friday due to a high number of student and staff illnesses.

An increase in absences and checkouts has schools in Lincoln County, Tennessee, closing. Schools will be closed Thursday and Friday because of sickness which school officials say resulted in staffing challenges.

McLean County Schools will be closed for the rest of the week due to continued illness. Officials with the schools took to Facebook to make the announcement. They say McLean County Schools will be using an NTI day on Thursday and school will also be closed on Friday.

Schools in Webster City and Sioux City are closed today as more than 20% of their kids are out sick, and an elementary in the Laurens-Marathon district was closed Tuesday for the same reason.
