Israeli forces have killed a member of the Palestinian security services in the occupied West Bank whom they accused of being militant.

Gunmen attacked a bus and car Monday in the Israeli-occupied West Bank, killing at least three people and wounding seven others, Israeli emergency services said. The attack happened near the Palestinian town of Al-Funduq. Israel’s military said its forces were pursuing the attackers and using blockades to cordon off villages in the area.

A month into a crackdown by Palestinian security forces on militants in the Israeli-occupied West Bank, the streets of Jenin refugee camp are deserted, except for a few residents briefly checking on their homes.

JERUSALEM (Reuters) -Three Israelis were killed and several injured on Monday in a shooting attack on a car and bus near the settlement of Kedumim in the Israeli-occupied West Bank, Israel's national ambulance service Magen David Adom (MDA) said.

The ban comes as the PA battles militants from Hamas and its allies for control over parts of the West Bank, a fight that could shape the struggle for leadership of the Palestinian cause.

Al Jazeera has condemned the Palestinian Authority's decision to suspend it in the occupied West Bank and shut down its bureau in Ramallah. On New Year's Day, the culture, interior and communications ministers jointly made the decision accusing Al Jazeera of broadcasting material that was "deceiving and stirring strife".
