KYIV, Ukraine (AP) — Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Wednesday that a vow by Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin not to attack energy infrastructure was “very much at odds with reality” following an overnight barrage of drone strikes across the country.

Trump said he had a “very good telephone call" with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy "to align both Russia and Ukraine" on their "requests and needs.”

The 30-day ceasefire would be the most concrete result yet of President Trump’s effort to end the war in Ukraine.

During the call, Trump suggested the U.S. could take ownership of and run Ukrainian's nuclear power plants, which he said would help protect Ukraine's energy infrastructure.

Following calls between Trump and Putin, and Trump and Zelenskyy, U.S. claims progress toward a ceasefire in Ukraine despite reports of Russian attacks.
