Phoenix Suns star Kevin Durant will undergo an MRI after he was ruled out for the remainder of Sunday's game against the Houston Rockets after suffering an ankle injury in the second half, head coach Mike Budenholzer told reporters following the game.

The Phoenix Suns went from bad to worse in Sunday’s 148-109 loss to the Houston Rockets before a sellout crowd of 17,071 at PHX Arena. The Suns not only dropped a third straight game and suffered their worst margin of defeat of the season, they lost Kevin Durant to a left ankle injury with 6:57 left in the third quarter.

Budenholzer announced that the Suns have decided to leave Durant in Phoenix ahead of their upcoming three-game road trip, per team beat reporter Duane Rankin of AZ Central. Moreover, the 15-time All-Star is expected to undergo an MRI on Monday morning to determine the severity of his ankle injury.
