Suddenly, the Denver Broncos are on cornerback alert. Cornerback Pat Surtain II is out with a pectoral strain, and the Broncos have some work to do to figure out the recovery timeline for the reigning Defensive Player of the Year.

The injury occurred late in the first half when Surtain made a tackle while awkwardly pulling down wide receiver George Pickens. He left for the locker room shortly after and did not return after halftime. The initial fear of a potential season-ending injury has since given way to relief across the organization.

"I'm going to attack rehab," Broncos CB Pat Surtain said on his "Closed on Sundays" podcast with Terrion Arnold.

An IR decision with Surtain may hinge on whether the Broncos believe the star CB could return for Nov. 30 game vs. Commanders.
