Marcy Correctional Facility in upstate New York is under intense public and legal scrutiny after video of guards beating an inmate to death was made public Friday. On Dec. 9, 2024, inmate Robert Brooks, 43, was handcuffed and beaten by guards in an exam room.

Hochul also announced immediate corrective measures.
