Nearly one and a half weeks after winning the Delhi Assembly election on February 8, the Bharatiya Janata Party announced the name of the next Delhi Chief Minister on Wednesday. Rekha Gupta was chosen as the leader of the Delhi BJP Legislature Party in a meeting held at the state office on 14 Pant Marg.

Gupta’s ascent to power hands control of the capital city to Prime Minister Modi’s party for the first time in 27 years.
