ALTON, Ill. — One year after a sinkhole closed Gordon Moore Park for more than a month the soccer fields remain closed, but Alton Mayor David Goins says progress is on the way.

Not only will the project revitalize the city’s original 1957 facility, but add a brand new Olympic-size pool, beach volleyball courts and more.
