The alleged machete-wielding bank robbery suspect who died after being shot by police has been identified by the Lancaster County Coroner.

The suspect in Friday’s Lancaster City bank robbery died after sustaining a gunshot wound to the back, according to the Lancaster County Coroner’s office. On January 24 police responded to a robbery involving a machete at the Fulton Bank in the 800 block of South Duke Street around 10:15 a.

Luis Fuentes, age 39, of Lancaster, was identified by the Lancaster County Coroner’s office as the man who died in the hospital after being shot by police. He wielded a machete during the Friday robbery,
