Among the prisoners listed by the Israeli Ministry of Justice are Ammar al-Zaben from Jenin and Abdel Nasser Issa from Nablus, both serving multiple life sentences, as well as Saleem Hijjah from Qalqilya, who is serving 16 life sentences.

Israel just released 90 Palestinian prisoners as part of the first exchange in the cease-fire with Hamas, Israel’s prison service said in a statement early Monday morning. Al Jazeera, the Qatar-funded Arabic broadcaster, streamed footage of Red Cross buses ferrying prisoners out of Ofer prison near Jerusalem after midnight on Monday.
Several adversaries have been cut down to size but Israel could face years of fighting to keep them contained.
