Since launch last year, Google has tweaked the design of Circle to Search a bit, and the latest change aims to simplify the UI. At the start of 2024, Circle to Search was just a pill-shaped field. Google then added a Translate button and later Song Search, while the Lens shortcut was eventually removed.

Tech giant Google has started testing a new design for its 'Circle to Search' feature. According to the report, this visual lookup tool, which was launched in early 2024, has undergone several design changes so far.

Based on the images shared by the publication, it appears Google has reworked several elements from the December iteration. Upon activating Circle to Search, the entire full-screen panel reportedly slides up as a single element. Exiting the interface is said to pull down the panel in the same manner.

Google Lens ' novelty has taken a hit since Circle to Search (CtS) came around. The latter, which has taken over Lens' on-screen context capabilities, has left some of Lens' previous functionality redundant — and that is exactly why Google seems to be repositioning Lens as a dedicated tool for real-world visual queries.
