For years, brave romance scam victims have shared their stories to prevent others from meeting the same fate. But rarely do those who’ve committed the scams tell us how to avoid them.

As Valentine's Day draws near, FBI Cleveland is warning the public about the dangers of romance scams and confidence fraud, which continues to rise, particularly in online relationships. The FBI advises individuals to exercise caution when engaging with people they have not met in real life.
