The department store Macy's this week announced 66 location closures, part of a larger plan to shutter 150 locations by 2027. Kohl's announced the closure of 10 stores in California.

Macy's has released a list of 66 "underproductive" stores it plans to close, three are in Georgia. More closures are expected at a later date.

The Macy's locations in downtown Sacramento and Citrus Heights are two of the 66 locations it plans to close across the country.

Macy’s on Thursday named 66 stores it plans to shutter this year through its "Bold New Chapter" initiative. The locations are spread across 22 states.

The department store has reportedly been struggling with declining sales, which has been affecting the wider sector for years.
