Five of Bettendorf’s six wins were pins as the Bulldogs defeated Johnston 41-38 in the fifth-place match at the Class 3A state dual tournament in Coralville on Saturday.
Bettendorf High School basketball battled Muscatine High School. The Bulldogs beat the Muskies with a 59-52 final.
The Hawkeyes (13-10, 4-8 Big Ten) shot 1-for-10 over the final seven minutes of the game as the Badgers (19-5, 9-4 Big Ten) closed on a 15-4 run.
