The Milwaukee Bucks acquiring Bradley Beal from the Phoenix Suns as part of a Jimmy Butler trade seems more likely than ever now.
Bill Simmons came up with a four-team trade that would involve Butler heading to Phoenix. He said on his podcast : "Well, the trade I came up with was Butler to the Suns, Beal to the Bucks, Miami gets Khris Middleton, Steven Adams from Houston and Cam Whitmore from Houston, and Houston gets Brook Lopez, and that actually works."
Jimmy Butler is still waiting to be traded away from the Miami Heat but there isn't an obvious end in sight less than two weeks away from the trade deadline.
There have been rumors lately that the Bucks might be interested in taking on Bradley Beal as part of a larger trade that would send Heat forward Jimmy Butler to the Suns. However, NBA insider Chris Haynes says in a Twitter video that Milwaukee hasn’t contacted Phoenix at all to ask about a potential Beal trade.
If the Heat keeps Butler past Feb. 6 and he opts out, Miami could either use a $14 million midlevel exception and a $5.1 million bi-annual exception or use about $13 million in cap space (which swells to $23 million if Robinson is released early this summer).
The Raptors are rumored to be trying to facilitate the Butler trade, per Heat reporter Ira Winderman. They have another $10 million in salary that they can take in before hitting the luxury tax, so using that space in order to get some future assets would be a smart move.
