Weather warnings not over for Metro Vancouver and the Island after windy Christmas
It was a blustery Christmas Day for Vancouver Island after wind and rainfall warnings were posted by Environment and Climate Change Canada.
Metro Vancouver weather: Rainfall, wind warnings issued for Christmas Day
Rainfall amounts of 50 to 80 mm are expected for most of Metro Vancouver. For the North Shore, northern Coquitlam, and Maple Ridge, 100 mm or more is possible. Places at higher terrain over 300 metres, "a brief period of wet snow may give slippery conditions," according to Environment Canada.

If you’re a last-minute shopper, Cadillac Fairview’s Pacific Centre in downtown Vancouver will be open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Christmas Eve, closed on Christmas Day, and open from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Boxing Day.
