Wildlife officials in Scotland say one of four lynx thought to have been released illegally in the Scottish Highlands has died the day after it was captured.

Four lynx “illegally released” into the Scottish Highlands have been captured by park rangers in a rollercoaster two-day rescue effort.

A lynx that was "deliberately abandoned" in the Highlands has died after being safely captured last night. The wild cat sadly passed away overnight, the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland has confirmed. It was one of four lynx to have been illegally released near Kingussie in recent days.
