Over the 4 July weekend, when many Americans were celebrating Independence Day, flash floods in parts of Texas killed more than 100 people. This included a number of young children who were at summer camps at the time.

More than 50 people have died, and search and rescue operations are still underway, following the devastating flash flooding that struck central Texas and caused the Guadalupe River to overflow on July 4.
