LOS ANGELES — Buster Posey has taken his first major swing as president of baseball operations by trading for three-time All-Star third baseman and designated hitter Rafael Devers from the Boston Red Sox in an absolutely stunning deal, according to multiple reports.

The future is bright for the Giants’ starting rotation, as a handful of young, exciting arms are breaking through or soon could break through at the major-league level. However, there only are so many spots up for grabs.

LHP Kyle Harrison will take the mound for the Giants. In seven games and 18.2 IP, he has a 4.34 ERA, including 19 strikeouts. Leading off for the Rockies will be lefty Carson Palmquist, who currently has an 8.50 ERA across 8.50 IP. That includes 14 Ks.
